Like many others, I believe this needs to be passed on. I remember when I first joined up on YouTube, and how many amazing video editors there were, how much fun every seemed to have creating these marvelous works of art that inspired me to start vidding. However these days it seems like the fun and magic has been taken out of it and everyone is out hunting for subscriptions or trying to post videos they think will please others, instead of creating something they enjoy. This is a horrible fact that is becoming more and more apparent with each day and I've seen many talented editors break and leave YouTube under the stress of it all.
What people need to understand- at least, what I believe they need to understand- is that vidding is NOT about subs, view counts, number of channel views, ect. Those are simple numbers on a screen and if you aren't enjoying what you are doing and having fun with it like you should be, then I personally believe that you need to rethink your priorities and start to just edit for the heck of it. So what if the video is not a 'masterpiece'? Who cares if the song is over used or someone else doesn't like it? Why should anything matter about anyone's opinion other then your own? I know that many of you have created dedication videos, or videos in which you poured a little bit of yourself into, which, perhaps may not have air tight masking and effects, but they are also the videos that I personally really enjoy and I think that when you can feel the emotions behind the art that you have created, it makes it all worth while.
"As long as one person enjoys the work I create, I will know it was worth the effort."
Well said :)
