Portia Njazi known as TIA, she burst onto the scene with her debut album Boy you got to know a WOF man production that featured the talents of Zimbabwes foremost R&B producer, Fortune Mparutsa.
The single caused a stir on the local charts and scooped pole position within the first week of release.
Boy You Got To Know immensely successful RnB hit and easily dominated the club circuit as well as staple on radio play lists around the country. She carried that overwhelming success over her solo pursuit.
Considered a sex symbol by millions of adoring male fans since her emergence on the music scene, Tias music appeal to a wider crossover audience both in and beyond the borders.
Born in the capital of Harare in October 1984, she did her primary at Avondale school and then moved to St Johns School, Emerald Hill for her secondary school education. She started writing songs at the age of 16. And her major breakthrough came during Education for Living lecture when her former teacher asked Tia to compose a song for her group.

A classmate came up with a beautiful melody and soon won Tias heart. Touched by the song, she went home wondering what it took to come up with such a nice and mellow song.

Without wasting time, she worked out a verse and she wrote more songs without telling anyone.

At 17, she performed at a school function and got the support of colleagues who urged her to consider taking music seriously.

In 2003, she recorded her first single Boy You Got To Know at WOF Digital Studios, Harare, Zimbabwe. During the same year, she teamed up with brilliant film producer Miriam Kunonga for her video of the song and it was video of the week on ZTVs Sunday Edition first week after its release. In 2004 TIA recorded her second single Tonite in CHIGUTIRO Studio Harare, with Sipho Playboy Mkhuhlani lending his excellent production skills to the recording.

Year 2006 TIA became the first young R&B star to be signed by Zimbabwe Music Corporation (ZMC),a leading music label in the country for her debut album 'Spice It Up'.

The Album is enjoying heavy rotation on television and radio, is reported to have sold over 50000 units in the last 4 months according to ZMC.
It took her two years to release the album which is funky, groovy, soulful, something that one will enjoy listening to. The 12-track album features the hits Come Lil Closer, I need you, Ready for your Love and of course, her single Boy You Got To Know. The tracks have superb videos, which are already being flighted on several musical channels including single Channel O, and ZTV.

She is currently studying a degree in Communication and International Studies at Monash University, South Africa. Certainly she is no pushover!

TIA has a great words to her fans and friends as her philosophy. If you have got a dream, follow it and never be disheartened by what anyone says because in life you will always have critics and fans because nobody is perfect. What you are is God's gift to you and what you make of yourself is your gift to God
