@faheem41 And you both wasted a lot of money. Yes, you win the tallest building contest, but most peole would rather see the empire state building or the CN tower. I would love to see Dubai in my life, but no more than any other destination in the world. In the end, Dubai MAY fail just for the reason that it doesnt attract as many tourists as its expected to, and the fact, that even to most people in the UK, the US and AUS, Its bloody expensive.

Let's not be too cynical about it. It's an achievement, not only for Dubai but for architecture and engineering as well. Let's not judge the architecture by the character of the people who made it possible. Let's wait till its completed and find out if it really works.
