Just a quick video with no audio just showing how to get the service menu working for dropbox in dolphin on KDE.. I'm using 11.04 here.

There is 1 missing dependency which i've covered so make sure you install it or you will just get an error when you try to grab a url for a file.

Service menu lets you grab the url of files and images etc in your public dropbox folder and copies them to the clipboard so you can paste them wherever..

Link for more info about service menu here..

  • I just installed Kubuntu again and got to the dropbox install and I couldn't remember exactly how to get the service menu working then I remembered my own video! So here I am, giving thanks to a past self.

  • @softpctips I've never used mac os but I think the icons in the icon theme I use are like mac icons? The icon theme is called Feanza and can be installed just by going to the icons tab in appearance in the system section and choosing get more themes. This isn't the default KDE as i've changed the desktop to the search and launch option and the panel theme to transparent, I am currently using the default KDE which I think is much nicer.

  • kubuntu has a nice interface. reminds me of the mac os x.
