Mark Skaife breaks the 300km/h (about 190MPH) Barrier

Mark Skaife of the Holden Racing Team breaks the 300 KM/H barrier while doing a demo lap for 06 bathurst.

holden vs ford .. pffft .. im a holden man , but atleast ford have there own engines / diffs vs holdens chev engine and ford diff

@rx3gt Which engine are we talking about? The older ones Holden sourced from abroad (350 etc.) were Chev motors, but the 308/304 were the Aussie V8. The current LSX line that's been in use from the VT Commodore is actually a GM product, it just happened to be used in Chev and everyone thinks they designed/built it

The above refers to road cars, Surely you can't be talking about V8 Supercars because their engines are custom builds that are nothing really like any factory product from either camp

Just curiouse, Do the parts the Ford Diff/ Intake manifold and many more also Vice versa Holden parts on Fords, actualy come from the factories,or are they custom made to ford/Holden specs? I remember many years ago The days of the VT and AU when they had to do some major changes to evan out the races because Holden only lost 3 rounds in as many years.

@rx3gt -- the Ford Diff (and rear suspension) is a control part, the Holdens have no say in it they have to use them. Mind you, I'd take the Ford diff any day :-D

V8 supercars use the same engline block regardless if its a ford or holden.

but the thing is that if you manage to make 300 approaching the chase, you speed up the mountain wouldn't be as good as the pace of the rest of the bastards.

@ShauningtoN Hate to break it to you make, but the V8s use a 5L chevy donk, and the LSX is a GM motor, but I highly doubt it is a GMH product. Besides, is it really worth arguing over the supercars? they're practically the same in principle as F1 only with a different body shell. It's not a driver/car fight, for the most part it's a tech war...
