Video of a Lorenz Attractor GPGPU object being calculated and displayed as a particle system within an Open Cobalt virtual world. GPGPU (general-purpose computing on graphics processing units) techniques leverage a computer's graphics processor (GPU) to perform calculations that in most applications are traditionally handled by the computer's main processor (CPU). User interface elements within the Open Cobalt world (see the dark grey cubes to the right of the frame) can be used to dynamically color, rotate and translate the object. This is a continuation of Matthew Chadwick's explorations into GPU-computed chaotic attractors of dynamical systems in virtual worlds.

GPGPU Firmware Seems to have Replaced the CPU in the Socket, Putting the CPU back at decoding/Encoding NorthBridge Chipset? Naplam Processing Unit & Sage Processing Unit Seem good to Explode Chips During Intense Special FX in Starcraft Terran with Napalm Nukes, better than Sega CD Shadowrun Hacking Compilers with Tesla inside the Machine! Visual Processing units seems Good For Powerpoint & Teaching, everyone likes a good Slide Show! Makes you wonder if Companies Bundling an APU for a Reason!
