93 7.3 IDI diesel Sidewinder turbo whistle

just straight piped the truck, wanted to hear the turbo whistle. 93 F250, 7.3 with the banks sidewinder, 10 psi max. avg 11-15 mpg

well right now im running a stock turbo on my 94 and im getting almost 10 psi now so how much of a difference does the banks turbo make???

@CForeman50 some people say that the ats factory unit is better once you put a new downpipe and intake hat on it. to me, the banks is punchier in the low end. it spools around 1500 rpm on mine and just from driving both ats and banks trucks, id rather go banks just because the parts are better and im not interested in racing it. i got an mr2 for that. banks is much better for low end to me. its much more vocal than the stocker as you can hear. plus banks still supports em, ats doesnt

@dmorgan740 yea ive heard of guys getting 4400 out of the bottom end. i wonder if i could get to 20 psi with studs and gaskets?

@Jacksonkellyfreak as long as you stay under 15 on stock parts you should be fine. hell, most of the bigger IDIs just run studs and a decent head gasket. the lower ends can take ALOT of abuse.

@CForeman50 about 10 psi at wide open. idis cant take boost like the psd. itll run with a lightly modded 94-97 psd thanks to the 21.5:1 compression
