"What to do if you receive the message "NO SATELLITE SIGNAL BEING RECEIVED" on a Sky digibox receiver?"

When a Sky digibox is turned on the first time the first thing the box tries to do is, amongst other things, to download approximately 6 hours of EPG information from a specific default frequency (or Transponder) from the satellite. The digibox must have this information to start to work. Unfortunately, the default frequency (transponder) that the decoder is initially set to look for (11778) is one of the weaker signals in Spain and the Costa Blanca, especially during the afternoons, even on a 2.4m satellite dish! So should you experience one of Spains frequent power cuts during this period, your digibox may be unable to find this frequency, fail to boot up, and display the on screen message "No Satellite Signal Being Received". Therefore, to assist the digibox to receive the bare minimum information it requires boot up the default frequency must be changed to another frequency to enable the initial information download.

This shows you how to change the default frequency to help the box boot up.

  • what i do if the world is invaded by zombies and i dont get a signal on both your transponders?

  • @fall0rn If you cannot receive signal using 12129 then you have an issue with your setup, as that is one of the easiest frequencies to rceive (alogn with 12207 that carries Sky News!)

  • Any idea how i can view RTE television in the UK?

  • @OXLEYCRUSHER YOu will need a Sky card registered in Ireland, and a Sky Subscription

  • thank u

  • Thanks for that worked twice perfectly!

A Sky box booting up to the regions you say, means that it is not reading the regoins on the card correctly - either the card is not inserted correctly, or the card has been deactivated (current cards are white both sides). Those regoins you have at the moment are the default regions.

But like i said, all other BBC regions are on the EPG channel 970upwards. Other iTV regions you will have to manually add. OR take out and reinsert your sky card, or get a new card

  • @satandpcguy I canceled sky a while back but i still have the card,no need for the card now really, I just have the free channels but 101 is BBC1 london, 102 is BBC2 England, 103 is ITV1 central w, and 104 is channel 4 where as before it was 104 for S4C. S4C is now channel 134! It was fine up until a few weeks ago and it's the same card i'v always had.

  • @morrismagic08 morismagic: How do you set what for Wales?

All BBC regions are already on the Sky EPG - from 970 upwards.

If you want to watch different ITV1 regions then you will have to add them as "other channels"...

Regions on 101,102,103 and 104 are all determined by the address of the SKy card you are using. Use a Sky card registered in Wales and 101, 102, 103 are set to Wales regions.
