@pray4chicken They use denim because clothing can slow down bullet velocity a lot more than you would think. In the past police have shot someone and their clothing would keep the bullet from penetrating effectively. A lot of bullets won't even go through car windshields & get deflected upward.

Back during the early to mid 1990's,firearm magazines would have an advertisement page of a PMC 9mm with the motto,"If Looks Could Kill".An open hollowpointed bullet that looks like a "flower" with blades.Bought a box for my 1st 9mm pistol and still have those rounds 15 years later.
