Performance of the beautiful Bach trio (first three movements here) in Manila, featuring American David Johnson and Prof Eric Barcelo on flutes, Graham Dwyer harpsichord and Rommel Cruz on double bass. Apologies for the hand held cam! Venue was University of the Philippines, Manila, December 2005. Will upload finale separately. Harpsichord is by Manila basedGerman Nikoaus Damm.

  • Very nice! This piece isn't even recorded very often and probably performed even less. For those who don't know, this is BWV 1039 which is an arrangement of the first Sonata for Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord, BWV 1027.

  • Both are beautiful works in their own right. Scholars believe the gamba version came later.
