@Beads19 some people may find them offensive because they are irish and will see the uk version so they changed them, some of the whole musical changed because we have a different sense of humour to the americans

What was ever wrong with the original lyrics? Was so disappointed when I went to see it...

they actually changed the lyrics to begin with just because of the country. in america it is seem more 'normal' to fantasise about ireland because its so far away and mysterious but in england ireland is just ireland and its more of a threat than a fantasy place so it makes more sense for the story to have been fed to her by her grandfather.

i absolutely love jill halfpenny. i want to see legally blonde and meet jill. she is a great actress, singer and dancer. the best actress ever. she has a great voice. good, loud and powerful. she sings this songs so well. i love her accent. she makes the song sound so good and funny. she is the best singer from the ireland reprise competition. some people said that she didnt hit the last note. i think she did and she did it excellently. i love jill halfpenny. xx

@TimeToDefyGravityXXX i think both lyrics could be just as offensive.. even though i never found any of them offensive.. i read through them and this one actually stereotypes more than the old one...

Jill Halfpenny OWNED this role. OWNED it.
I didn't know what to expect, and I was left with my jaw on the floor and begging for more! (sorry, I didn't mean that to rhyme. Honestly)

@xxclareyfairyxx she was by far th best singer and was sooo good

@Beads19 In the Broadway version they say Irish bag pipes, but theres no such thing it would be uilleann pipes and theres more examples in it too so thats why they changed it (:
-
why is the whole of the london version lower than the broadway version
and i like these lyrics :)
Apparently from what Iv read some of the old lyrics could be seen as "offensive"
