  • @BUSMAN6000

I have been wanting to go to Lansing but sadly all the ex-Los Angeles GMC RTSs are retired so it's pretty much New Flyer city. Though it is an idea worth exploring. Thanks for the suggestion

  • I fuckin miss these buses . They sound so good with yhis engine

  • I'd perfer riding this bus over that lame dirty box on wheels, nova of cta anyday! I'm amazed at how well these orions have lasted. kudos to pace northwest for maintaining them. When these first came out years ago I was dissapointed with the lack of seating up front. But now I just enjoy seeing them on the road. Beautiful to listen to ecpecially when excelerating. Brings back many memories! I hope they continue 2 stay around for awhile!

  • I think all of our buses in Pgh have this. it's very hard to get a good recording here.

  • It's that extra layer of noise as the bus builds up. Not all of these buses had their engine fans tweaked like this. I know Trevor Logan (transitmaven) once had a sound clip of PACE 2376, and it too has that strange layer of noise.

Why I don't like it: it blocks out the full body of the main powertrain sound, just like the growling HVAC you guys hear every now and then on some Gillig Phantoms/Low Floors.

  • They still have these!!? Great vid!

  • if you don't mind me asking, what is infini-fan?

  • I hate the "infini-fans" that the mechanics sometimes do to the Detroit Diesel engines in these and other buses.
