266e's stepped output clocked by the Pendulum controls the lower smooth output which controls the smooth output above it. The smooth outputs control the two 250e's in continuous mode. Sort of a feedback patch, but not quite, maybe a feedforward patch?

I step through some presets which I hadn't set for the patch towards the end. Watch your ears on one of the presets about 3/4 of the way in.

  • @davie4monster Of course it can be described, but whether it's perceived as romantic or baroque is judged by culture and subjective taste. (It may be called romantic by definition, but "romantic" is also a positive subjective value judgment.) Cubism can also be described but whether it's "good" or "bad" depends on cultural context and time period.

  • @GBG (2) ...However, there are Still many who Remember the romantic sound since it's final demise did not occur until circa 1972, with the decay of "The Rust Belt",, the end of proper maintenance of the old furnaces producing steel for the wire. ..And too, of course, the passing of the generation of men who "knew what they were doing" in regards to sound vs. metal.

  • @GBG ..UR WRONG AGAIN. "The romantic sound" can be described, in particular in the way it Functions in the piano. ...how certain waves are re-enforced,, how long they last etc. etc. ..though it would be a Long and Tedious description. It also has nothing to do with "baroque." It was the piano sound circa 1890-1930, but the knowledge of what made it possible went out of existence in the minds of the manufacturers, the wire-makers, and the felt-makers beginning with the "Big-Band Era."

  • @davie4monster As for that Steinway piano, again that "romantic sound" is completely subjective. In another time and place, this piano might just sound hopelessly baroque.

  • @davie4monster Art and science are different. Art is subjective. Science is objective. In art, do whatever you need to reach your goals. In science, stick to the standards for everyone's convenience. (Dates in this case are the realm of science. A date is the same no matter how you write it. No need to have a million standards.)

  • @davie4monster ..// I mean, once again, look ABOVE, my edited comment..!

  • @Gameboygenius ..// your as stupid as I thought. and you have accepted what you believe,, ie that Your standard has All the benefits, with-OUT any THOUGHT..!!

    ..What a SCIENTIST...!!! Weeeee...!!

  • Today's Steinway Pianos are made to ISO quality standards, yet the "romantic sound" the older ones had is lost. How could that have happened.? ..but you know, in my anger I mis-spoke. I should have been saying "a" instead of "the" in critical places. Hence the re-write: "YOU tell me 'a' Benefit of Farenheit over Celcius, You tell me 'a' Benefit of Fractions over Decimals in the Stock market. ..You tell Me 'a' Benefit of the English over Metric in Common Measurement." ..NOw,, can you Do It..??

  • @davie4monster Not very hard to miss the point in that mess of words. If your point is that we should just accept that we're different and be a big warm fuzzy family, that's a stupid point when talking about units of measurement. It's very beneficial to have a single standard for that kind of thing so 1 (unit) is 1 (unit) where ever you are in the world. And SI units (metric) just happen to be practical and orthogonal.
