@UHtiger THEY do happen often, but think about how much more often they happen in American football. like the linemen for example. every play those pads smacking that you can hear over the crowd on televisions would be faces banging and shoulders and arms popping without pads on. If rugby needed pads they would be wearing pads. but don't take this for shit talking. they are two different sports with different skill sets and i respect both classes of athlete.

@Bounding4miles Sorry if you get this twice, not sure if it posted before. Yes Ice hockey needs pads. They play on hard ice, just dont go onto a sports video where they wear nothing and talk about how hard ice hockey is. Hits like these happen fairly often.

@UHtiger The same goes with Hockey. They are on skates. They are traveling MUCH faster than anyone on a rugby or AF field. No-one can sustain collisions such as Hockey players do without pads. And the rest falls into History. Rugby never had pads, AF and Hockey always did, As years went on the sports improved and changed and now we sit today enjoying a beer watching athletes compete in our favorite sports.`Who gives a fuck who thinks which is better.

@UHtiger But the same time how often do these big hits occur in both Rugby, Hockey and American Football? I'm trying my best to stay neutral in this argument, but these brutal hits that rugby player take aren't as frequent as in Hockey or Football. I'm sorry its true, every play in AF there's always somebody getting popped whether it be linemen or backs and secondaries. You couldn't play AF without pads. there wouldn't be anyone left to play come week 4.
