Okay so i finally remembered to make the video about all the corroded carburetors I have at work. As you can see this is what ethanol and methanol fuels will do to your out door power equipment if you allow the machine to sit with fuel in the tank and carburetor. This is the price you the consumer has to pay for "going green". Most of the time its just a carburetor rebuild. However prices can jump up if the machine has been sitting for a few months to over a year. If the machine needs and new fuel tank and carburetor then prices can range from $100 to over $600 depending on the size of the engine.

  • the price for "going green"? SOrry, sounds like some tea party bullshit to me- this is what you get for subsidizing the corn industry with dirty political money- ethanol isnt the answer- its a band aid. What's the truly "GREEN" solution would be screw gas altogether and ride a bike. So whats the solution? Electric engines, but from where? Solar, lots of solar, wind and hydroelectric coupled with better battery tech. But dont knock trying to do better for the planet and HUMANITY.

  • @StuBotNYC Its not tea party bullshit. lol. The whole green movement is a joke. Because it is costing us money. The government is pushing this "green movement" on use buy forcing us to use technology that isn't fully tested. As a result it cost's people money. As you said its dirty political money. Just political figures trying to make names for them selves. Its not even a band add. Ethanol just increases food prices and prices at the gas pump. It is in no way better for Humanity. Continued.

  • @StuBotNYC I do think electric power is the answer but not in the form of batteries but hydrogen cells. Oh and these carburetors are from out door power equipment engines. Also how would you like the ride a bike to work everyday? for me that's 20 miles each way. not really something I'd want to do on a bike. what about riding in ran, snow or a really hot day? does that sound healthy to you?.

  • I just pressed the reply button 10 times and nothing happened LOL, it did this to all the other videos I commented on earlier too.

  • @1972FordF150 LMAO. I have to click on view all comments to reply to someone lol. This sucks.

  • Since Youtube is being a pos I can't reply to your comment properly. I use the Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer but right now I'm out but next time I run to the store I'll have to pick some up. The longest anything sits is probably 3 months unless it's our rototiller which often sits almost a year with treated gas in it. Our generator sometimes sits 3 years but it's always run out of fuel and nothing is in the carb.

  • @1972FordF150 I'm having problems replying to. I wonder if my videos will get stuck at 302 views like allot of others lol.

  • Yeah it does lol

  • @1972FordF150 Yeah it is crap. Its good that you use stabilizer and also run your equipment once in a while. The damage occurs when the engine sits around. Or if you leave old gas in the fuel tank or gas can for more than a month or two with out using stabilizer. I've had good luck with both Star Tron and Sta-Bil fuel stabilizers.

  • Man I've never lost a carb due to ethanol fuel and I leave gas in my stuff. But I do use fuel stabilizer and run my stuff every once and a while lol. That ethanol stuff is crap!
