@lastrada52 I agree 100% with you. Elvis sold Rock N Roll. But without the archetypes there would had been nothing for Elvis to sell.
By the way, I'm an Elvis fan.

@TheJinjo75 - Writing your own songs didn't create the rock image. It was an attitude & state of mind. Elvis had it. This is why musicians -- those that wrote & couldn't -- followed. Ask Robert Plant or John Lennon. Many rock songs relevant today Jinjo were sung by Elvis. Songwiting was an added benefit (for some). Elvis actually, did not need it. Writers sought him out. He made rock an industry & proved it could make money. It wasn't enough that he got the ball rolling?

@lastrada52 Elvis had a great voice and was a great front man but he didn't write songs. Those other guys created the sound of Rock and Roll and write songs that are still relevant today, that is why they are better.

@TheJinjo75 - I'm responding directly to ImTheDude909's mention of Elvis in his post -- So, if I don't know rock history - you can't read. ImThe Dude only said Elvis. ALL the artists you mention were friends of Elvis & contributed to rock but none effected or sold rock the way Elvis did. Elvis' influence was far wider and intense. They didn't have the overall impact in the 50's of Elvis. Being before Elvis doesn't make you better. Even Bill Haley came before Elvis.

@lastrada52 You really dont know much about rock history. What about Chuck Berry, Little Richards, Bo Diddly, etc....? All of them before Elvis, and better.

@KraljOsovina Well, you obviously lack manners and an economic degree, as well as taste in documentaries.
