Interview with Prof. Baruch Rubin, Alumni Workshop

At the Pears Alumni Workshop in Plant Sciences - http://www.agri.huji.ac.il/external/pears-workshop/index.html - past graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture's international M.Sc. program gathered from around the world for an intense week of professional and personal up-dates. Prof. Baruch Rubin, the first Chair of the program's Academic Committee was abroad, and so this taped interview was screened at the Welcome Session to share his unique viewpoint and to bring his greetings to the alumni.

Alumni had arrived from Australia and Austria, from Nepal and Mexico, from South Africa, Germany, Ethiopia . They had originally studied in the program in various years, so some participants from the same country met at the Workshop for the first time.

Prof. Rubin's comments, regarding the rationale behind the establishment of the program and its initial years, were of great interest to the alumni, who are now fulfilling the hopes of those who then envisioned a transfer of scientific agricultural knowledge to the students' home countries.
