  • The lyrics, at least partly, are by king Solomon, author of Ecclesiastes.

  • @Orika176

    or that Koheleth (1:1) guy

  • @dratjp the Koheleth guy is king Solomon xD

  • @Orika176 well...if one wants to be picky, it may have been Solomon, son of David or not, but that is still in dispute...but at the end of the day it is still great poetry.

  • Very moving video, nice version of the song.

    2:08-2:21. . .I am at a loss for words

the song was written by Pete Seeger, in **1954**!!

  • IT MAY NOT BE ABOUT 911,BUT I AM A VIET NAM VETERAN,MY FATHER FOUGHT IN WORLD WAR2,MY UNCLE DIED AT PEARL HARBOR,MY SONS ARE FIGHTING IN IRAG AND AFGHANISTAN,FOR WHAT,ALL I REMEMBER WAS THAT THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE BROUGHT ME HOME THROUGH PROTEST AND THRU PEACE MARCHES.I SERVED FOR WHAT TO SEE ALL THOSE POLITICIANS YELL TERRORIST,AND SEE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN LOSE THERE LIVES.I THOUGHT IT WAS OVER AFTER NAM,BUT IT CONTINUES.IT IS AN ANTI-WAR SONG AND THERE SHOULD BE MORE OF THEM.WAKE UP AMERICA.

  • @ashnunu this version done by : eden's bridge turn turn turn

  • WTF is everyone arguing about!?!!

Who cares where it came from originally!!!

Get the f*ck over it already!!!

No wonder there's so much war in the world, When you argue over lame points!!

    Cheers Joe for the video!!!

  • The words were written around 300 BC- or was it 3000 BC- whatever. Here God, through Ecclesiastes, points out that there is a time to Kill- a time for War. This is the bible folks- no wonder we're screwed. That directly contradictes Genisis. As it Turns out- God, the biblical one anyway, was not so all seeing all wise as I hoped. No wonder the world is screwed.

  • @KurtKennedy2133 Well this "song", or at least the poem, the lyrics, are about 3000 years old... :)

  • Excellent job dratjp
