Dear friends, Our field team is now one step closer to visiting our friends in the refugee camps. Today they were able to leave N'Djamena and fly into Abeche in preparation to travel to the Djabal refugee camp tomorrow.

In today's video we see our field team coming across some important cargo that was left behind in the coup attempt in February, a suitcase full of painted panels. Students from Pentaluma, California, had painted one side of the panels while Darfurian students in Chadian refugee camps painted the other side.

Watching the video today, I was very taken back at the extreme contrasts between the colorful signs of peace and hope the students in California had painted and the images of violence and death the students in the refugee camps had painted. There should be no reason a child's art portrays images such as a woman being shot by soldiers while carrying water on her head as we saw on today's video.

Action: This Friday, join the San Francisco Bay Area Darfur Coalition begin your weekly commitment to Darfur Fridays and Keep International Focus on Darfur. This month use your weekly actions to engage your friends and representatives in a conversation about our United Nations Security Council Presidency, use Africa Action's talking points. Using these same points, write a letter, call the US Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad here and/or send him and Condeleezza Rice an email here.

We will also be periodically sharing your messages to refugees throughout the trip. Please leave them for us to share here.

Peace, Cory, for the i-ACT team
