Jobless in the Valley ( Valley Health System)

October 12,2010 approximately 45 people lost their jobs when Physicians for Healthy Hospitals purchased Valley Health System ( Hemet Valley Medical Center & Menifee Valley Medical Center). This is MY story.. I decided to start a BLOG and Vlog in order to reach out to our community to bring back 100's of years of experience to the two hospitals. This is my first post.

2.) Staff Nurse PACU 12/1/2003-12/1/2004 Inland Valley Regional Medical Center Wildomar California Provided Nursing care to post-operative patientsduring the recovery phase.




3.) House Supervisor 12/1/2002-12/1/2003 Valley Plaza Medical Center Perris, California Provided nursing supervision during 7pm-7am shift. Staffingand bed coordination.




4.) Director Critical Care Services 12/1/1999-1/1/2002 Corona Regional Medical Center Corona California

Full-time 24hr administrative responsibility for an Intensive Care Unit & Progressive Care Unit(Telemetry). Hiring & all Disciplinary actions.

Responsible for developing & implementing programs to validate staff competency.

Re-organization of leadership/charge nurse positions.( which became the Model for the entire facility)

Oversight of a unit re-design. Responsible to develop performance improvement plans.

Accreditation readiness.Successfull passed all accreditation surveys.

Headed the Code Blue Committee, attended Med exec and other committees as assigned. Filled in for the Chief Nurse Officer as needed.

Interim Manager of the ER and Med/Surg Units.

Responsible to develop and administer a $6 million dollar capital budget- 300employees

Responsibility for 80 inpatient Hospice units in SanBernardino & Riverside Counties. Managed a full disciplinary team including physicians who provided inpatient Hospice care.
