I think it's hilarious that the acutal game "Soccer" by Microsoft even says "Action so real it hurts"... but I thought that's not what the game is..

No, there is no record of Fred Rogers ever being in the military. Nor is there any unexplained gap of time in his life where he might have served the government in some secret manner. That sniper story is just one of those silly urban legends.
