  • man that sound is scary as hell, I'll be hiking around to diff fishing spots and just about step on them - scares me shitless everytime

  • This is indeed a Western Diamondback:

Color: Generally light tan to brown with faded "dusty" diamond pattern. Terrain: Brushy desert, rocky canyons Elevation Range: Up to 5,000 feet Prime Location: South of Searchlight, NV Bite: Highest fatality rate of any snake in North America!

Best Identifier: Size. This is a big snake compared to other rattlesnakes. White and black bands on tail.

  • I HATE snakes but of all the poisonous snakes out there at least this one rattles and lets you know it's there.

  • That is a sidewinder, not a diamondback. Crolatus cerastes cerasted (Mojave Sidewinder).

  • whoa i go to lake mead all the time........imma be more careful now..i live in las vegas i hope thats in arizona haha

  • lol when it rattles, it means its mad, angry, uncomfortable, ready to attack, and i woouldent be surprised if u got bitten, bu hey! u had the guts to try it, 5/5

  • Looks like the one I picked up in Wild Burro Bay!
