This version of "Whistling Rufus" was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Tuesday, May 13th. 2008 by Millennium Eagle Jazz Band.
With Pete Brown on trumpet and valve trombone, Matt Palmeron clarinet, soprano and tenor, Andy Holdorf on trombone, Chris Etherington on banjo, Brian Lawrence on bass and Jack Cotterill on drums the band gave their usual superb performance.
Once again an excellent gig at the Harp where sessions are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening.

  • great!

  • "Whistling Rufus" was, of course, written by Kerry Mills, composer of "Red Wing" and so many other loved American songs. Thank you for posting this and preserving a more obscure piece of music. Nice little four-beat style going there, too, boys!
