D.O.G.S. Airshow 2008 (Giant Scale Radio Control Airplanes)
Normally when you say something is going to the dogs it means that things aren't good. But in Dayton, Ohio on Labor Day weekend going to the DOGS means some of the best RC flying around. The Half Time Shows were really interesting in that the DOGS did a good job of highlighting almost all aspects of the hobby including 3D, Precision Aerobatics, Warbirds, Turbines, Helicopters, Racers, and even small electric Foamies were represented. One thing that I did notice was that the show changed a little bit each day. The DOGS would add elements to the show as different pilots would arrive to the show. One of the more interesting aspects of the show to me was the Warbirds fly.

Yeah, this is what the Navy used to call the TV-2, but it's the same as a T-33 or F-80.

That is a T-33 model, not an F-80. Check take off portion again, then look at how long the canopy is. Huge difference.

This video has been mislabeled. This is a scale model USAF F-80 Shooting Star of about the same period. Very nice all these scale models. I see why Spielberg used a RC model in Empire of the Sun to show the waving P-51 Mustang Pilot.
