The Late, Great Ronald Reagan taking on Sam Donaldson during a 1982 press conference regarding the state of the economy. His humor was one of the things that made him the great man he was.

  • @WallisvstheWorld Americans were stupid enough to elect a former actor. And look at America now. On the cusp of becoming a third world country.

  • @nygiantsfan6 Reagan raised taxes four (4) times between 1982 and 1984. Ergo, Ronald Reagan was a Democrat at the time of this interview.

  • @nygiantsfan6 We can't afford a spender like Reagan.

  • @WallisvstheWorld Oh shut up

  • @WallisvstheWorld Reagan dropped the top marginal tax rate from 70% to 28%. Taxes were indeed cut, and not increased. Government revenue did increase - that's due to increased employment and a healthy economy, not tax increases.

Look at the link I just added into the description, this will help take away your talking points and reinforce mine.

  • @silicon212 His record shows he was a Democrat. Raising taxes, increasing the size of government, etc.

And you are burdened with having to prove it, because you claim to know what Reagan "truly" believed. You won't prove it bc you cant, and I just ruined your talking points.

  • @WallisvstheWorld Why would I have to prove anything? His record speaks for itself.

  • @einsteinadonis "Public services", as you call them, should come from state/local government and not the federal government. They include police, fire, and other necessary services. Reagan worked to cut out the bloat from the federal government. Yes, he spent a lot of money on the military, but try to remember the era this was in, the Cold War. That, among other things, helped to bankrupt the Soviet Union and end the cold war. Read the Constitution to see what roles the Fed. gov. should have.

  • @silicon212 do you not like public services? taxes pay for those. reagan tried to abolish school lunches (ketchup is a vegetable!) just to save a penny while giving tax breaks to the fortune 500. get real!
