@WallisvstheWorld Reagan dropped the top marginal tax rate from 70% to 28%.  Taxes were indeed cut, and not increased. Government revenue did increase - that's due to increased employment and a healthy economy, not tax increases.

@einsteinadonis "Public services", as you call them, should come from state/local government and not the federal government. They include police, fire, and other necessary services. Reagan worked to cut out the bloat from the federal government. Yes, he spent a lot of money on the military, but try to remember the era this was in, the Cold War. That, among other things, helped to bankrupt the Soviet Union and end the cold war. Read the Constitution to see what roles the Fed. gov. should have.
