When i whas washing my tattoo ,and puttint lotion on it , not a lot of color went out of it , but a bit did , should that happend , in the healing proces ?

i got a tattoo done 2 days ago, at first all over the colours were vivid, though now sort of in the largest colored in black section it looks a lighter shade of black in patches, like it's been colored in with a black texta or something. i watched the artist go over this section very thoroughly though and it's not like i can see through to the skin. it's just lighter. is that normal while it's healing? like..will it all even out?
