I was a Baltimore transplant for 10 years and I've been gone as long.
You can't deny the amount of mind-blowing history that went on there-
love it or hate it, folks were proud and lucky to be born in such a 'real' American city.

Great video! What year is this from? Looks like mid-70s. Baltimore Buzz is good, it is interesting to hear him play this later in life.
Notice how they use part of Luckey Roberts' 1923 piano roll "Mo'lasses" from 1:22 to 2:01 in the video.
I really love how Eubie illustrates how they played the spirituals in the church way back when. AWESOME!

The recording was made in the late 1970's when my husband bought a Sony Betamax machine the year they came out and recorded jazz and ragtime programs that interested him off Tv.
