secret This said, we might ask, "What color were the ancient Egyptians?" Being on the continent, Egypt has always been an African civilization though it straddles two regions, Africa and the Middle East. It's fairly clear that the cultural roots of ancient Egypt lie in Africa and not in Asia. Egypt was a subtropical desert environment and its people had migrated from various ethnic groups over its history (and prehistory), thus it was something of a "melting pot," a mixture of many types of people with many skin tones, some certainly from the Sub-Saharan regions and others from more Mediterranean climes. It is impossible to categorize these people into the tidy "black" and "white" terms of today's racial distinctions. The Egyptians are better classified using evidence of their language and their material cultures, historical records, and their physical remains because so-called "racial" identification has been elusive, much for the reasons cited above. Skulls have been measured and compared and DNA tests attempted in various forms, but conclusions are few. Skulls are more similar to those found in the Northern Sudan and less similar to those found in West Africa, Palestine, and Turkey. It seems that there has been some genetic continuity from Predynastic time through the Middle Kingdom, after which there was a considerable infiltration into the Nile Valley from outside populations. That the Egyptians by and large were dark is certain, and many must have been what we today call "black."

  • @redaeredoc those are braids homie not straight hair. I have a lot of family members that have braids that look exactly like how the Egyptians depicted themselves. It's just funny that people are so bent on saying the ancient Egyptians were not black. There's so much biodiversity among "black people" all over Africa, but because these people were progenitors of civilization they can''t be black. Can you see how our societies racists machinations have influenced your opinion?

  • Wonder why the sound was removed?lol Anyway, can somebody please direct me to the original source of the videos where those guys are being interviewed? Thanks!

    Boooooooo Google YOutubE! lol!

  • very interesting video thanks

  • @Craftinfinite And just to be fair, many ancient native American "Indians" also wore those braids. It's not exclusive to black Africans … nonetheless, the indigenous black origins of Kemetic science and religion are still being uncovered. You may wish to check out Robert Bauval's "Black Genesis" exploring the amazing recent finds at Napta Playa. Stephen Mehler's video "The Land of Osiris" is fascinating….The Sphinx 54,000 years old ??? Check it out.

  • @Craftinfinite The ancient KEMETIANS were black, at least the originators of the pre-dynastic culture. ("Egyptos" is the name from later Greek rule.) Remember that many women of all colors wore Nubian style braided wigs as high fashion in ancient Kemet. These wigs are occasionally found next to their mummies. (LOL The reverse of 20th century black women wearing wigs to look white!) Kemet became THE multi-cultural ethnic melting pot of the ancient world. Today's "race" notions did not yet exist.

  • @immayhem In my opinion your point is a very important one to make. That's one of the beautiful things about pre-dynastic Egypt. Women seemed to be on equal or even more revered ground than men. As we move into Aquarius I look forward to a rise of the feminine.

  • @Craftinfinite Male supremacy is also woven into the way every human being on the planet orders their reality. I happen to be a woman - and I'm sensitive to that thoughtform. Of course western academia is rooted in white (and male) supremacy - and everyone else, 'the other', their wisdom, their works - have been suppressed, or destroyed. This is the time of dissolution, however and I seek wisdom and liberation from imposed thoughtforms. That is what the age of Aquarius brings.

  • @immayhem. We live in America where racism is woven into the very way we order our reality. This reprogramming doesn't happen passively, we must honestly and critically address it in order to escape from its bond. For African Americans experiencing racism, however blatant or subtle, on a daily basis, it causes us to be a bit more sensitive to it. Western academia is rooted in white supremacy, and this is reflected by it's refusal to even place Egypt in Africa. I only seek what's true.

  • @Shortyjored88 I agree with you, that the diversity on this planet is owed to visitations and genetic manipulations by extraterrestrials. it isn't a new idea... some of the earliest writing (Sumerian cuneiform tablets, etc.) more than suggest it. But ALL of us have a black African native ancestor, AND an otherworld ancestor, (Annunaki, Nephilim, etc. - many races) but most importantly, we share 99.9% DNA. I have studied the spiritual and social implications of this for most of my adult life.
