@avatarnarutochuck I'm playing all the right notes—but not necessarily in the right order

Oh ! C'est JEAN JACQUES TOURNEBISE qui fait l'interview !
-
I can't imagine composing music for movies...to me it seems to be the lowest form of a composer no offence to anyone just saying....opera or things like that are more my fancy...

very nice,genial manner about him.

You are sooo right, Mr. Strings. My bad. Alex North wrote the score for the movie, not the play. So sorry! xxC.

no Previn wrote it

However, Mr. Strings, didn't Alex North do the music for "Streetcar"? I could be wrong. C.

I ditto every word you say, Mr. Strings. I adore this man! xx Claudia

Fantastic! Many thanks for this. I'm so glad that Lennox MacKenzie mentioned 'Andre Previns Music Night'. That was MY introduction to serious music too. Do these tapes still exist? I would be great to see some of these shows again. I remenber Martha Argerich playing Prokofiev's 3rd piano concerto. I recorded it by dangling a microphone in front of the TV and and played it until the tape broke!!
Thanks again.

Hi luvselgar
I'm not sure about the Andre Previn's Music Night tapes. The BBC notoriously destroyed tons of archive TV and radio shows, so possibly not. The famous Previn/Preview Grieg episode does survive, as the BBC used quite a bit of footage in the programme they produced on BBC Four for Previn's 80th birthday in March. Have you searched YouTube? It seems the most likely place for the shows to be!!
thanks for watching. Best wishes, LSO
