Exo Terra Expedition Gabon 2007

The main research area of this expedition was Loango, situated in Ogooué-Maritime province, Southwestern Gabon. Where we found all 3 crocodilian species, several chelonians, lacertilians and snakes.
The goal of this expedition was to expand the knowledge of the herpetofauna of this unique piece of primal Africa and due to the nature of the area, it was hoped to discover a new species like in 2004 during the Exo Terra Expedition to Madagascar. And again a totally new species of daygecko was discovered deep in the rainforests of central Gabon.
