2011 NDSU Bison Thunder on to the FCS Championship!

It seemed fitting this past week was finals week at North Dakota State.

The Bison defense also took a crash course in defending triple option offense. That unit aced the test Saturday at the Fargodome before 18,108 fans.

NDSU limited the Eagles to a season-low point total en route to a 35-7 victory in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision semifinals.

"To hold them to seven points really is phenomenal," NDSU head coach Craig Bohl said. "I couldn't be prouder of them."

Georgia Southern entered the game averaging 37.1 points per game and 334.1 rushing yards per game.

The Eagles finished with 186 rushing yards on 48 attempts, an average of 3.9 yards per rush. That rushing total was the second-lowest for GSU this season, a team that rolled up 302 rushing yards on Alabama. (Fargo Forum; 12.18.11)
