This was stupid. The doctor should have told the person to block off his ear canal with the flap of cartilage when the roach came out. This way there would have been no way for the roach to go back in!
I consider that flap of cartilage a lid for our ear passage.

thing like this never happen to me. and i do not plug my ears. why? because i have a narrow hole. it`s normally and good. nothing can`t get in. and i don`t have any hearing problems.
