How do you keep his teeth so perfect? What a great dog! I can't wait to get one.

I used to have a Dobie-bulldog,FREDRICK.
To make him snap at clotheslines, all I had to do was give the command,'GIT
UM!"
"If it ain't a DOBERMAN...it ain't a DOG!"

hey, Draco!!

Draco has amazing eyes. Mine is all serious. She's goofy at times but not as wide eyed and curious-looking as yours look.

so what kind of motivators do u use because hes really good for a trat but without a treat he could not care less he would rather fight the command then just give in and people say its because ure not pack leader he doesnt respect you i definately am and hes very loyal hes just not affectionate and not praise orientated
i was just wondering how to make my dog a bit more praise desired
why does my doberman not care about praise and affection he only does tricks if im holding a treat he wont sit unless he thinks hes getting a treat

You could try using variable reinforcement with him. It's a training technique in which you use different motivators to produce a desired behavior. You can probably Google it for more information. Also, you could try clicker training. :)

P.S. - I trained Draco using variable reinforcement. It works!

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Draco has never tried to run away, and I doubt he'd protect me from anything. He's a big wuss! He runs up to strangers to lick their hand, not bite them. Dobermans have come a long way since their beginning as working guard dogs. Selective breeding has picked out many of the Doberman's more admirable traits, such as intelligence, beauty, and loyalty. While the instinct to guard is still inherently there for most, it is subdued in comparison to the "old dobies".
