  • great film .the last surviving volunteer of the war Dan Keating described it as "an accurate a portrayal of the time" He passed away last year i think.Defiant to the last he refused the state pension, and the award offered to people over 100 yrs old,and did not attend the hypocritical attempt at commemorating the 1916 rising in dublin.

  • de valera knew full well that when he sent collins to westminister he would not be able to get full independence. he used this to make himself look good and he turned against the men he had fought with for many years previcious!

    i loved this film and it made me cry so much at the end.
