@adambuonya because our antcestor is one until the khom king gave his northern provinece(luang prabang) to his son-in-law the Issan King as a wedding gift. Lao people call us Ka which means slaves. I know khmer and khmu language almost alike. I'm 100% khmu from luang prabang. grew up with khmer people in Stockton and Modesto CA also learn to speak khmer too. Never get along with lao people.

@adambuonya They're related like bro and sis the Viets are like their cousins lol. Khmer Viet and Khmer are indigenous to the area thai/lao came long after. Khmer are Native to Cambodia...Viet to Vietnam...Khmu are the Original people of Laos. Laotians are a break away of thai people. I dont know how the khmer khmu split came. i'm thinking when large waves of other non mon-khmer people started moving in maybe dont know. The Khmu guy I was dating told me that khmu and khmer are related...
