  • im disapointed in this review because you dont just come out and say that this was a bad story and bad writing from grant morrison. you try to defend grant morrison by saying,"well if you dont read the wole story then you wont understand it" but thats bullshit because thats with any story you read, if you dont read the whole thing you wont understand it. regardless that greant morrison wrote it you should have just came out and said dont waste your time on this crap

  • @juggernaut44 but it isnt a bad story. its confusing and thats what puts people off. plus theres a very clear reading order that no one bothered to look at even tho grant said to

  • do i need to read this before i can read battle for the cowl?

  • no it doesn't really matter

  • does the final crisis hc come with all the other connecting stories or does it just include the main seven issues.

  • the hardcover collects Final Crisis #1-7, Superman Beyond #1-2, Submit

but to get the full story you should get the following HCs: Final Crisis, Final Crisis Companion, Final Crisis: Revelations, Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, and Final Crisis: Rogues' Revenge and maybe R.I.P.

see all

  • whats you favorite story arc?

  • Final Crisis was a stupid mess of a comic book. Grant Morrison overcomplicates a lot of factors. I don't get the backstory of the Monitors and you can't connect with Batman's death because Darkseid wasn't the main villain (Mandrakk the poorly shoved in idiot is) and they make it obvious that he's gonna come back.

  • @ChannelNumberKyle Yeah, i see what you mean.

  • @MiniKojib I totally understand that, in a Batman book. In a series that stars pretty much every character currently in the DCU, some things have to get cut. it also puts the reader in the same position as Darkseid (if you don't read the Batman Last Rites tie ins where it shows him escaping), in that you turn the page and at the same time as Darkseid reader sees Batman going, "Surprise, bitch!"

  • @ChannelNumberKyle But see how he escapes is the fun bit. Just knowing that somehow he beats the bad guy and escapes is pointless. With that logic, theres no point reading any batman because 'you just know that he wins' in the end.

Seeing HOW he wins and ecapes, that is the fun bit. the clever bit. The good bit.

  • @MiniKojib They do explain what's up with Batman just showing up like that after he was captured early in FC in Last Rites, really, it doesn't matter. He's Batman. Escaping and saving the day is what he does. You don't need to see how he escapes, because you know he will.

  • @deathgodstorm

    cool! thanks!

  • honestly i'm probaly not even gonna bother reading this!

there is too much too read so i read final crisis

  • already have r.i.p thanks.

  • blame dc grant Morrison clearly said to like and understand the story you have to read it in the following order: Final Crisis #1-3, Superman Beyond #1-2,Submit,Final Crisis #45,Batman #682683,Final Crisis #67

  • so your telling me.....i need to buy the final-crisis hardcover.....which i already have in an issue form.....again.....just to get one small story......in order to understand the climax......of the main story......costing me money.....

  • the last rites story was already printed in the R.I.P. hard cover so to save money dc didnt reprint it even tho you have to

  • but i dont know where to buy, nor do i feel i should need to read a completly separate book, in order to make vague sense of the climax of final crisis.

  • that's why you have to read last rites to understand the batman stuff. the HC does do a good job explaining the reading order

  • The reason batman's death wasn't worldwide (except it was...or at least I knew) but the story was so mind-bogglingly confusing and, just generally jumpy and non-linear, to the extent that for someone to write about the context in which batman was killed...they'd have to spend 4 whole pages explaining the story.

I mean, i read final crisis, and the suddenly in the last issue...batman just walks in to where darkseid is...he just appears...i dont know how....but he does.

    +batman is hardly in it
