when i think of good collaborative stuff, it's the japanese startup companies made of 50 people producing one comic or one game or one manga. in other words, they're producing something that can then be mass-produced and that plugs into the culture. it's very hard for one person to make a hit video game or anime, but it has been done before, simply because it takes so much work.
