Boys Like Girls is a pop punk band from Boston, Massachusetts. They are best known for their breakthrough single The Great Escape, as well as their consistant success on radio with hits like Love Drunk, Two Is Better Than One and Thunder.

The band originated when lead singer Martin Johnson recruited bassist Bryan Donahue and drummer John Keefe into his new band. Soon after the group created a page on Purevolume and uploaded demo versions of The Great Escape and Thunder. Hype began to surround the act and by the end of the year, they were listed as the #1 Unsigned Artist on the website.

All of that changed when Boys Like Girls signed to Columbia Records in 2006 and began work on their debut album. With full label support the band embarked on a tour with Cute Is What We Aim For and All Time Low. And in August, their self titled debut hit stores nationwide.

Featuring the hit singles The Great Escape, Thunder and Hero/Heroine, the band was soon getting extensive radio play as well as appearing on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and MTV's TRL. The band also continued extensive touring with superstar acts like Cobra Starship and Motion City Soundtrack.

The band's popularity grew so fast that they were able to do a co-headlining tour with Good Charlotte, one of the most popular pop punk bands of the decade, soon after the album's release. And shortly before Boys Like Girls went back into the studio to record new material, their debut album was certified Gold.

In 2009 Boys Like Girls began work on their sophomore album. After all of the success of their debut record (Gold certification and several Top 20 singles), the pressure was on to exceed expectations for the new album. Hype began to build and in September 2009, Love Drunk was released to the public, debuting at #8 on the Billboard Charts.

After all of the success on their first album, the band was able to land guest starring appearances by A-list celebrities and musicians like Ashley Tisdale and Taylor Swift for the new record. Love Drunk, the album's lead single, went on to become the band's most popular song to date (even topping The Great Escape). But even that accomplishment was soon topped by Two Is Better Than One, which went on to become a pop smash featuring vocals from Taylor Swift.

Today Boys Like Girls has established themselves as a superstar band in the world of pop punk. They have sold well over a million albums worldwide and landed six popular singles on the Billboard Charts, including their latest smash Heart Heart Heartbreak.

With plans to begin work on their third album later this year, as well as a co-headlining tour with All Time Low and Third Eye Blind as apart of the Bamboozle Road Show over the summer, Boys Like Girls looks to continue their transcending popularity as kings of the pop and alternative music genre.
