Hello. first I wanted to thank u for what u've done with your tutorials. Thet have been very helpful and very informative. I have a question though. I was trying to download bc tool and was wondering if I have to have my 396t connected to the computer in order to do this. I was trying to do this on my laptop but the connection cable the scanner came with cant plug in to my laptop. If it needs to be connected does it have to be on a desktop computer only? Please help.

Thanks for the comment. You do not have to be connected to download or install the software. If the reason you cannot connect the PC cable is that it is a serial cable, you can buy a serial to usb converter that will work. I use one and have no issues with it

Great video. This helped me setting things up. I'd like to ask if you can please post a beginner's guide/help on programming a scanner with ARC? I have a Uniden 996T with the ARC996 software. Anything comparable will be appreciated!

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, I have planned on doing an ARC-396 intro but just have not gotten to it yet. I will try and get on that soon.

Thanks for posting this video. It takes a lot of the mystery out of the software and is useful all over the world as it's compatible with the models (such as the UBC3500XLT) which are used in Europe, Australia, etc.

Some of the radio dealers offer a price to program the radio for me for one county. Is it worth it or should I just purchase the software and do it myself. I know a lot about computers but nothing about scanners. I would have to buy a digital scanner due to the police in my area are on digital radios now.

Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I truly appreciate it. I'm a lil confused because I'm tryin to follow each step as your video plays, but am unable because u connect your radio from 3:20 on. Does this mean that at this point I already have downloaded the right software and am done?
