@hrbear haha I use Slackware yes, however many Linux gurus also use Arch and LFS, idk, I used to HATE KDE and was kind of ok with Gnome, but now I've been lately getting used to KDE, I used to use Windowmaker and Fluxbox but with as much computer power is available now I figured I might as well have some nice styles and use my resources a little, even with all the special effects and all the software I run the system uses less than half the resources Windows 7 ultimate uses on mine.

@legendaryfallen Microsoft created the plug and play idea??? lol nooo they created a system that can run on many different PCs so anyone could produce the computers and simply pay Microsoft a royalty, Apple created the plug and play idea and that's very apparent with the first Mac's that were an all in one kind of like the iMac and Apple has always had plug and play since, now all of the system's have become better over time and now plug and play is almost a default.

@TheNativeDialect : uhm ... each and every OS served their own purpose. Microsoft created an evolution with plug and play idea (first appear in XP) so that even a dinosaur can online and chat sex with his/her mate :) . It took a few years for other OS to catch up and at least Ubuntu answer the call which provided an OS which can create a friendly environment for the user not as easy as Window yet but acceptable and for $0. you take the bite you pay the price ... live is always a trade off
now for making ubuntu look like windows 95
