Saint Thomas Aquinas Schola Cantorum sings Regina Coeli - Gregorian Chant followed by a polyphonic setting composed by Gregor Aichinger at the Cathedral in Salamanca, Spain. The concert was the inaugural concert, in a series of concerts, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the New Cathedral. The concert was performed in the Old Cathedral for a capacity audience.
STA Schola Cantorum is the Resident profession choir of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Diocese of Phoenix. Matthew S Sprinkle, director.

  • Is this a bel canto choir?

  • in primis Bravi first of all it's not so easy to sing this setting...especially for the sopr. which are frequently "noised" by the parts of the tenors ( this is the first grade of difficulty)...your perfomance is quite good but too much power in your voices so you lose the "colori" of yours...and it's a pity but i like this setting so some others little errors doesn't waste the Aichinger's brano bravi and go on gus!
