QUESTION: i'm a girl and i've wanted to try 501's out, they don't make them for women anymore so all i can look forward to as far as authenticity is concerned is the mens sizes, what size to i convert a womens size 14 to whatever mans size 501s would be

those were pretty loose, you didn't have to go into the tub with them. Probably would of gotten the same effect if you soaked them then put them on as theyre damp, just before dry. Soaking them while wearing them is unnecessary unless you're afraid they'll shrink too small around the waist.

@davidkchen Yeah, I know, but the waist was already pretty tight fitting and I didn't want to risk it shrinking at all. I wanted them loose, I'm not feeling the skinny jean, fitted look that's hella popular these days.

Yes, that's what happens when you soak raw denim. My friends' water was hella blue-er.
