@whoo689 Or that the universities in Japan are a lot more geared towards jobs and the business world/market than, say, here in America. In U.S. universities, there are a LOT of extra credits, aside from your major, that you have to take to pass and get your degree. Humanities, arts, foreign language, etc.

Is getting into college in Japan just as rigorous as it is for middle and high school? I know (based a lot on my watching of anime and personal research) that you have to pass an entrance exam to get into most (or all) Japanese middle/junior high and high schools, right?
I also read in some journal or economics publication article a while back that, supposedly, Japanese universities are VERY commercialized and corporate or geared towards business and not so much the education? this true?
