@MakoChanx I have yes. I've been able to get the gist of some parts of conversation but haven't had the time to properly the language. As for self study...I only managed to get past greetings ^_^;;

@auran5 Have you considered learning the language?
Its taken me about 2 years but I can understand and speak above basic japanese, and I can read and write in kana. Its hard work, but SOOO worth it! Especially when you want to import Japanese games! :D

I wish I could understand japanese....I wish there was an option to keep the jap voices and have subtitles in the game...

The primary problem i have with the new FF games is the lack of freedom. In these new ones they are either MMOs that show to consistently fail or are straightforward story play. Example:
FFVII: minigames, grinding for golden chocobo, secret characters to gain, secret sidequests, three discs worth of story
FF above X-2 that are not MMO: straight story, possible side quests, not much replay value... gg

@Darkcoremaster Shut it man, its a great game none-the-less. I say each Final Fantasy is its own and gives a unique experience. That's what makes the franchise so awesome.
I have to hand it to Square-Enix for taking risks and making changes unlike other games and their sequels.
