Evan Longoria singles during an October 12 Arizona Fall League game between the Scottsdale Scorpions and the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Longoria was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the first round (3rd overall pick) in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft out of Long Beach State. The third baseman was honored as the Southern League's Player of the Year in 2007 after he hit .307/.403/.528 with 21 home runs and 76 RBI for Double-A Montgomery.
