Here Ride cover Blondie. Sounds nice. I put the video together with images from an obscure film. RIDE Union City Blue. Released on the Fierce Recordings Label and features cover versions of the Blondie track which was originally released on a free cassette in 1989, black and white wraparound picture sleeve.

  • wow This is a really cool version of an already awesome song! I like the film footage you put together for this.

  • @MasterShifty Thank you!

  • The singer is Alex Taylor of Motorcycle Boy.

  • Thank you for the info.

  • who is the singer? not mark gardener or andy bell....

  • I'm pretty sure it is Mark Gardener.

  • This isn't Ride, but Motorcycle Ride. Motorcycle Boy and Ride were both playing at the Jerico Tavern in Oxford and did a couple of songs together at the end of the gig (as I was told by a local who was there). There was a free cassette given out after the gig. I had a copy a long time ago but you know cassetttes. It didn't last forever. Alex's vocal to Atomic (other track on cassette) is even more amazing!! Great to hear this again. Thanks very much. Can't believe I missed the 7".

  • Great to finally get a chance to hear this. And I should add that Alex Taylor's own stuff with Motorcycle Boy &, before them, the Shop Assistants is well worth checking out as well. The debut Motorcycle Boy single, "Big Rock Candy Mountain," is particularly sublime.

It came out as a 7" single on Fierce Recordings, a label run by Steve Gregory out of The Pooh Sticks.

  • Yes this is alex taylor who fronted motorcycle boy and was in another band called shop assistants...this was only released on a tape so i belive along with other tracks by other artists after a gig....so quite rare!!!
