Hey TomTom, how about offering your HD Traffic service free for users that are willing to provide data from their phone? I mean data on mobile phones isn't free but since your company gets this data from users it benefits your HD Traffic service in the end. Might as well provide it free for users that are willing to donate their data. Charge only those people that just only want to receive HD Traffic service.
@trigolis it's a controversial idea. As you most probably could guess the HD traffic service is not easy task. It requires data collection, gathering, processing, and re-distribution. Behind that there's a huge bunch of people and complex technology working on daily basis. This comes with high costs. If your suggestion would take place, then the service would not receive adequate financing for supporting it as the majority of people would be willing to give away something to have it for free.
