  • Shame they had to bomb the bridge as it was full of POWs that the Jap put on as an attempt to human sheild the bridge.

  • @Dragon888888888 THEYBOMBED THE BRIDGES TO KEEP THE NIPS FROMMOVING SUPPLIES UP TO THEIR ARMIES

  • Why would i put a monetary value on something of my father's? BECAUSE HE WAS A DRUNKEN, ABUSIVE ASSHOLE! HE BEAT US, VERBALLY ABUSED US AND MADE MY MOTHER'S LIFE HELL ON EARTH!

  • @mmcceng77 Why on earth would you want to put a monetary value on something of your fathers, how mercenary.

  • @Gauchoo1234 The one that really sticks to mind is he said the German fighter pilots would come so close to his plane that he could see the expression on their faces (their eyes, I guess). It got to the point that he started taking it personally - as if they wanted to shoot down the plane just because he was on it.

The way he told it was better than any ghost story you might hear. Probably because it was a true story told by the person that experienced it.

  • @TomatoeAssassin tell us briefly some of those stories! Please!!

  • My Uncle was a gunner on a B-24. Some of the stories he's told just send shivers down my spine.

  • I have my Dad's B-24 flight engineer's manual. Wonder what it's worth? He gave it to me when I was 6.....52 years ago
