This Video is part of my foray into teaching, the backing track is by Geoff Whitehorn guitar techniques may 2001. It is basically in G major but modulates into A minor and B minor so gives lots of options for constructing solos. I tend to use G pentatonic and G dorian for the first part and then modulate to the A minor scale and B pentatonic. It is also possible to force a minor scale against the G 13th chord and also to force major notes against the B minor chord, there is a decending line towards the end of the track where I alternate the thirds between major and minor giving a slightly odd feel to the track. I suppose I am sayng that this is a perfect track to get your ears round alternative harmony.You will find that virtually everything works.
A fucking massacre if I ever saw one.

Mercy Mercy Me is NOT the title;
It's Mercy Mercy Mercy
How to ruin a great piece of music. Do you not know how to play in a subtle way? You have to shred everything to bits. Your rhythm is awful. Phrases stiff.
So awkward at the 3 min. mark....3:39...just take off and forget the band....I gotta show off my licks...forget music. 4:13...what clunkers!
