@ellz316 Great way to put it.(: Like Colossians 3:17a "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,...." I don't think it's a sin to think of this song directed towards someone other than Christ. BUT, as a follower of Christ, it is only logical that you turn everything into praise of our Lord and Savior.

Part of being a christian lyricist, is simply not obsene language or profanity. Not all christian songs use Jesus or God's name specifically.

This song isn't necessarily "Christian" if looking at the lyrics, but worship isn't the things you say or do, but the state of your heart while you do those things. If you want this to be about your boyfriend or girlfriend, so be it. I, however, choose to worship God when I sing this song.

@TheCovenantProgress I love that if you make a any kind of remark that is tongue in cheek it's deemed that you don't have a Christian attitude. And to top it off you make a tongue in cheek comment about my intelligence in the same comment..classy, yet hypocritical!

I think that you honestly hit to the core of my argument. A well known praise and worship leader writes a song that MUST be deemed Christian because he wrote it and all the while not lyrically resembling a Christian song. Logical.

@theez14 So let me ask you, why exactly are you insulting and criticizing others just because they disagree with you? That's not exactly a Christian attitude to have. I think it's pretty obvious that this song is about God considering that the author of the song is a well-known praise and worship leader. I mean, it really doesn't take a rocket scientist (which you obviously aren't) to realize that this song is about God's Love. People like you are why I left the church years ago.
